Eau de Nostradamus : Aqua Mirabilis

Michel de Nostredame, also known as Nostradamus, was trained as apothecary. It is said that he would also have been doctor. Practicing astrology like all his colleagues at the time of the Renaissance, he is most known for his predictions on the world.
Lesser renowned are his activities of perfumery: he produced balms in his workshop and even wrote a « Traité des Farbements » (1555) from which we have retrieved quite a precise perfume recipe: at that time, this Water had the originality of
containing orange zest, a new and very expensive product. It gives lightness to the composition based around a fruity and spicy heart, rose, and the absolute essentials: amber and musk, with an interesting touch of calamus.
