Eau de Parfum – Impératrice Sissi

On a base of Vanilla, that leaves a tactile feel of velvet to a sensitive skin, this perfume adds a floral note distilled by the Violet, a little facetious, and the Iris, with a light and fresh Bergamot as head note.

Elisabeth Amelia Eugenie of Wittelsbach was born on the 24th of December 1837. Known under the popular name of Sissi, she was the daughter of the Duke Maximilian of Bavaria and married, aged 15, the future emperor of Austria, Franz
Joseph. She would be tragically assassinated in Geneva in 1898.

Unlike the cliches, she was not the glamorous young woman in love with prince charming, future monarch. Certainly, she accepted the constraints of the Court, but constantly escaped the world. In this way, she focused on her only passions:
the (undercover) journeys, her beauty care, the antique culture…

She marks the century with her beauty. Slim (type “top model”), 41 kg for 1m 62, she is often in pain, but always radiant. She travels throughout Europe, journeys on the imperial yacht, escapes to Madeira and Corfu where she builds her residence, the Achilleion, a wonderful mansion in the style of the antiquity.

For her time, she is an “emancipated woman”, a “seagull of the seas” in her own words. She likes poetry, horse riding, and the forest. She spends a lot on her grooming and trims her renowned hairstyle that leaves Europe in admiration. She
invents creams for them, and more importantly she rinses her hair every day with a vanilla lotion that she produces herself.

As perfume, she uses like all the women of her time a violet (from Parma or Paris): it is this encounter, of such a typical powdered perfume of the European upper class of the nineteenth century with the lively and sensual vanilla (which is more
or less the contrary), that is illustrated by the attractive and unusual perfume of Sissi…
