In the “Russian Leathers” tradition, Nicolas de Barry recomposed a very classic perfume of the 1920s, that had been hugely popular in Paris and in Europe during that time: using the very characteristic odours of saddlery, with a heady fragrance of
burnt birchwood (evoking the Russian “Banya”), this very “club” perfume was an echo of a Russian fashion in Paris. In a cultural sense, Serge Diaghilev’s Ballets were then the main attraction. And the star: the dancer Nijinsky who excelled in the
polovtsian dances of Prince Igor…

This princely water offers a revised Russian Leather: still, the birchwood and its smoky note, the woods, the leathers are there, but in an atmosphere refreshed by notes of Bergamot from the Calabrian winter…
